L.A.S.S.I.E. itself was first created in 2014 and as of today supports 18 clients (conventions) all over the world.

L.A.S.S.I.E. is a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system and provides the means of dispatching Security and Medic Crew Operatives assisted by computer. It can either be used to send messages to the respective Operative via a Telegram or Pager message and/or used to store and retrieve data (i.e. incident logs, attendee information, item database, schedules, etc.).

The central idea is that the Dispatcher is able to easily view and understand the current status of all units being dispatched. L.A.S.S.I.E. provides displays and tools so that the Dispatcher has an opportunity to handle calls-for-service as efficiently as possible.

L.A.S.S.I.E. comes as a web-based desktop version to be used by Dispatch to track and alert units as well as the Operatives for filling in reports and for the self-scheduling system (L.A.S.S.I.E.). In the field a Telegram based Bot (L.A.S.S.I.E. Bot) is used to set an Operative's status or to retrieve individual information from L.A.S.S.I.E. itself. L.A.S.S.I.E. consist of several modules that provide services at multiple levels. These services include incident management, unit dispatching, incident status maintenance, unit status and several databases providing information about a running convention. L.A.S.S.I.E. also includes interfaces that permit the software to provide services to Dispatchers and Security Crew Operatives with respect to control and use of mobile devices (smartphones).

L.A.S.S.I.E. is an acronym for Library Access System for Security Information Exchange.
