The L.A.S.S.I.E. Scheduler Module provides an overview of all scheduled duties and events, to aid Dispatchers and Executive staff. The module provides three sub-sections:

The L.A.S.S.I.E. Scheduler Module can be reached[1] via web-browser at https://lassie.furcom.org/. When logged into L.A.S.S.I.E., click on the L.A.S.S.I.E. menu (the logo) and select "Schedule" from the "Personnel" submenu.

Please always remember, that the event schedule as well as the times of events are not 100% final until the day the schedule is officially announced and therefore to be treated strictly confidential up to that date!

Entry Layout

Each schedule item has certain information directly visible. Those are:

  4. Event title (for abbreviations see: ) and number of needed Security Crew Members in brackets
  5. Already registered Security Crew Member(s) for this event / duty shift. This might be truncated.
  6. Event number (will probably not show if event is one hour or less due to missing space)

Please click on any event to show further information about the particular event.

Options

Self-Scheduler Options

  1. Select the Convention year for which you want to change your duty schedule. Usually only the newest event is available.
  2. Check the "show events" box to show all of the upcoming Convention's events like "Dingo's L.A.S.S.I.E. Story Hour". Convention events (e.g. panels) are always in one of the fifty shades of grey. This is particular useful to fill in your preferences of your own "must-not-miss" events. Just add yourself to the grey event to prevent a duty shift to be assigned by the shift manager in the same timeframe.
  3. Check the "show unassigned shifts only" box to only show duty shifts which have not enough Operatives assgned yet.
  4. Select if you do want to see all shifts or only the shifts you have filled in for so far.
    • Selecting "show all shifts" will show all shifts for the upcoming event which are available to fill in for. Abbreviations will be explained later in this text. This option is default when opening the L.A.S.S.I.E. Self Scheduler Module.
    • Selecting "show my shifts only" improves the view of your personal duty schedule in a great way. If you did not fill in for any shifts, "show my shifts only" will most probably show you an empty calendar.
  5. Use this buttons to navigate through the calendar. If you really need help with those buttons you should decide on taking a "computer for beginners" course at your local training course provider. All images in this handbook have been taken from the "day" view option. So if you think it's crowded in the week view, try this one emoticon_wink

Registering for duties

Registering for duties pretty much works the same way as registering for events. There is, however a certain difference as duties have a number of Security Crew Members needed for them. If the number of registered Security Crew Members for a certain duty is too low or too high, a coloured bar will be shown in the entry.

By clicking an entry a Security Crew Member can register themselves to that duty, just like registering for an MnM event. However, if the number of Security Crew Member still is not correct, the coloured bar will remain. Only if the number of registered Security Crew Members matches the number of needed Security Crew Members, the duty will become 'all green'.

If allowed by the shift manager in the System Settings, you can possibly register for a duty which is already 'booked out' thus 'overbooking' it. No guaranties you will have to work then, but having some Operatives spare is possibly not a bad idea. The final assignments, however, will be made by the shift manager.
